The Trip to Yosemite; sun, snow, and waterfalls....

It is May Day and on this beautiful spring Saturday, it seems like the perfect time to let my 'top' down and drive through the "Gateway to Yosemite" down Highway 140 to Highway 49 (passing by the United Methodist Church in Mariposa) on to Highway 41 (passing by the United Methodist Church in Oakhurst) and on into Yosemite.

First stop is a 2 mile hike uphill (ok, I walked!) to Mariposa Grove and the beautiful Giant Sequoias. Still snow on the ground, but a wonderful day none the less!

Three pictures to follow....

The next day was 'fall day'. A visit to Chilnualna Fall -- Two pictures to follow...

Then through the Tunnel to experience "The View" -- Two pictures to follow...

A short stop at Bridalveil -- such a nice wet mist -- Three pictures to follow....

A picture of Yosemite Valley -- One picture to follow....

My first experience with a bear -- you can hardly see this bear, but, it was on the way to Yosemite Falls.... so hopefully you will see three pictures -- the bear, Lower Yosemite Falls, and the combination of Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls. Such powerful falls!

What an experience; do take advantage of this beautiful area; only two hours away from Merced, and well worth the trip!!!

As you probably guessed, I couldn't figure out how to put my pictures in with the text. I hope to get a tutor session, and by the time I'm 90, this will be 'old hat'.
