post #1 at the end of the day -- it's only thursday!

hi everyone; i've decided that i am being taken care of way too well! tonight we arrived at bawtry hall, the secret location of the r.a.f. (royal air force) in bawtry, south yorkshire. (picture in the evening of this mansion). during wwii, no one in this tiny community, not even the cook, knew what was going on in what is now known as the command room (the little simulator can be seen in the picture).
the picture of me is taken inside of the chapel of lincoln college in oxford. This is where john and charles wesley were 'fellows', tutoring, teaching, and being paid a little for this opportunity to have students work one-on-one. i have a couple of other pictures, previously. having taken 161 pictures today, and not posting them all, i have decided to try a couple of posts tonight; it's early yet -- only 10:50 pm! i have to stay up long enough to digest not only the day, but the roast beast, yokeshire pudding, potatos, greens, carrots, and this great cake desert with custard. i took a walk after we finished -- and reflected upon the day.
what an adventure this is; great people and wonderful opportunties to connect with the wesley heritage; our current and our future. there are many 'to be ordained' clergy with us, and their journeys and ideas are exciting.
a representative from the general board of higher education is on this trip, so i got to share news of our wesley foundation, jennifer and the wesley clubs, and my concern for the church not recognizing campus ministry as 'church'; for they are doing the ministry of jesus christ as wesley wanted ministry to happen.
so, what will follow is the beginning of the day; when we board our coach to our trip to oxford. it was a very full and quick day, and i certainly can't include everything here, but i'll give it the 'old college try'....hee hee. thanks for reading. i will put this day in at least two additional posts.
