ok, so the sun is shining in london, with clouds in the afternoon and just a few wee drops of rain this evening. weather report done.
you'll notice a few, if i can't fix them, sideways pictures. well, simply turn your computer screen to the correct directure for full enjoyment of the streets of london; i make no promises that i'll be able to rotate left or right -- i did that already, and you can see where THAT got me!
now, how did wicked get in there? and harry potter; my word! i am enjoying the sights and sounds of london; people are friendly, and many things you'd like to see have a fence around them. traffic includes lots of taxi's. and busses, of course; i took the 'tour' of london, but my picture taking skills weren't all that good. alas, what you see is what i got!
people tell me that harrods was sold on saturday...but, it looks as if no change will take place; harrods is a landmark in london. and people tell me that in order to enjoy london, you have to 'look up'; renovations were done on the bottoms of many buildings, in the forms of shops, etc. and yes, starbucks is here. but from the second story, the real character is seen. one more thing about harrods; they have an attendent in the restrooms, who greets you and lets you know that you can use handcream and other products before you leave (was that tmi?); it is like going to a salon...but i digress....
of course i didn't see everything; the queen was busy after the election, so our scheduled teatime didn't work out. and i keep going in the wrong direction, which isn't all that bad, really, except i keep saying 'o, i think i've been here already'.
tomorrow starts the wesley pilgrimage. i do look forward to that experience; probably less pictures and more text, but i'll try and make it interesting. the exchange rate is great for the brittish, by the way. and there are signs on the road with arrows that say look right and look left. 'so, you better watch out..." you can hear the bells tolling the hours all over london; a reminder that god is found everywhere; well, at least on the hour.
the upperground is exchanged for the underground tomorrow. rest well, and god's peace to you.
It must be really strange to be so far away and still be so connected. My daughter had a hard time really being there because she was so busy keeping up with her demanding mom's need to hear from her. :) poor kid. Make sure to 'be' there. Big love to you

bless you, cam; this is actually a good experience for me; helps me reflect upon my day. it is funny, however, to watch massive numbers of people (i kid you not!!) all walking along with bags rolling behind them. the train system is great, so you can go everywhere from an airport to a bus station to cities and the country, and roll your belongings behind you. when all else fails, there is a taxi!
ReplyDeletenice group of people here. the staff will even do our laundry! (i don't think i'm ready to have that happen, however).
take good care of yourself before you have to be 'out of commission' for a while; so glad that you are getting a new knee so that you will be out of pain!
bless you, j
